VIVE LA FRANCE: TECHNION SCIENTISTS WIN PRESTIGIOUS AWARD
Presidents Shimon Peres of Israel and Nicolas Sarkozy of France will award two young Technion scientists the Israel-France Foundation's prestigious prize for promising scientists. Back-to-back ceremonies will take place March 11 at the Elysee Palace and the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

GOLDFISH AS GUINEA PIGS FOR PARKINSON'S
Biologically, goldfish may seem very different from us. But they are attractive candidates to help researchers fight Parkinson's disease in humans. Scientists at the Technion Faculty of Medicine have discovered a simple, low-cost way to model Parkinson's disease using these fish, possibly providing an excellent way to test for new drugs.

SHARE YOUR STORIES FOR ISRAEL'S 60TH
This year marks Israel's 60th anniversary and celebrations are already taking place across that country. We are asking ATS supporters and friends to submit stories, reflections and impressions of Israel and/or the Technion. Maybe you returned to Israel recently for the first time since childhood, or there was something memorable about the country or the Technion from the first time you visited. We would like to hear from you.
Send your thoughts to info@ats.org. Put "Israel at 60" in the subject line. Your submissions will be posted on a special Web site: http://www.ats.org/Israelat60
On this Web page, you'll find - in addition to information on ATS events honoring the anniversary and your stories - a short film clip honoring Technion's contributions to Israel's growth.
A WINTER DISCOVERY
An unusually cold winter complete with snow in Jerusalem did not slow participants in the first-ever "ATS Discovery Mission." Paticipants went sightseeing in Jerusalem, and learned about the complex Israeli political system and challenges faced in modern Israeli society. On this relatively brief but intense mission, participants also met world-class faculty and students, and got an up-close look into how Technion innovations and alumni impact the global marketplace.
Photos from the mission are now posted online. View pictures from the Discovery Mission .
