HAPPY PASSOVER!
The American Technion Society wishes you and your loved ones a joyous holiday. Passover means spring, and spring brings a rebirth of life and an awareness of our environment. The Technion, too, is acutely aware of its environment and has successfully cut its energy consumption by 20 percent using some simple, easy-to-implement measures.
What did the Technion do to reduce its carbon footprint?

NO INTERNET? YOU CAN STILL HAVE YOUR FACEBOOK
Imagine you're flying to a relative's house for Passover, but get stuck in an airport during a delay, and (gasp!) don't have an Internet connection. Thanks to a new Facebook application developed at the Technion, you'd still be able to use your laptop computer - sans Internet - to find Facebook friends.

LESS THAN ONE MONTH UNTIL ISRAEL'S 60TH
A huge nationwide celebration is in the works for May as Israel turns 60. Join us on the ATS Mission as we journey to The Netherlands and Belgium or Poland, and then Israel, where our itinerary will contrast the heroism of the Independence and Six Day War eras with the modern miracle that is Israel today.

Also, send us your thoughts and reflections of Israel on this milestone year and we will post them at our special page:. www.ats.org/israelat60

NOBEL SYMPOSIUM ON YOUR DESKTOP
Watch 10 Nobel-Prize winners from the comfort of your office or home on May 19. The Technion Nobel Laureate Symposium is a one-of-a-kind event at the Technion that, although sold out, will be simulcast on the Internet. This fascinating symposium will be held in honor of Israel's 60th birthday.

NOW: THE PERFECT TIME FOR A CHARITABLE GIFT ANNUITY
A troubled economy means fewer sure-fire investments. One sure thing, however, is a charitable gift annuity (CGA) that pays you a guaranteed income for life.
It is crucial to act now, however, because the rates for CGAs will decrease on July 1 by as much as 0.8 percent. If you lock in a higher rate now, your rate cannot decrease -- no matter what happens on Wall Street.
